Jill A. Marcus, O.D
Dr. Marcus graduated cum laude from Binghamton University. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of NY College of Optometry in 1998, and was the recipient of the scholarship award for Excellence in Primary Care. While obtaining her degree, Dr. Marcus interned in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the State College of Optometry. She then completed her residency training in Rehabilitative Optometry at the Northport VA Medical Center.
In addition to caring for patients in private practice, Dr. Marcus was appointed to a staff position at the Northport VA Medical Center in 1999. She remained on staff for several years as a consultant in the Optometry Service. Dr. Marcus was also an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor during this time, supervising residents and interns at the Medical Center.
Dr. Marcus has been an active member of the Nassau County Optometric Society, serving on the board of directors for two terms. She also maintains membership in the New York State Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association. Dr. Marcus resides in Dix Hills with her husband and their two sons.
Ken H. Sorkin, O.D
Dr. Sorkin attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he graduated in 1986 with a Bachelors degree in Earth and Space Sciences. After teaching high school earth sciences and physics for two years in Plainview, New York, he entered the State College of Optometry in NYC.
During his four years of study, Dr. Sorkin served as president of Beta Sigma Kappa, optometry's honor society, as well as his class president for three years. After graduating with honors in 1993, he went on to complete his residency in hospital based rehabilitative optometry at Northport VA Medical Center. Professional memberships include: American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, Nassau County Optometric Society - board of directors. Dr. Sorkin has presented lectures and scientific posters at national optometric conventions. He currently resides in Suffolk County with his wife Heidi and two delightful daughters.
Daniel M. Laby, M.D.
Dr. Laby has been trained in Ophthalmology and specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus as well as Sports Vision. Dr. Laby attended the George Washington University School of Medicine, receiving his medical degree in 1987. He completed his residency in 1992 and a fellowship at UCLA in 1993. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at the State University of New York College of Optometry and a former Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Laby has served as staff ophthalmologist for several professional sports teams including the LA Dodgers, NY Mets, Boston Celtics and LA Kings (NHL Hockey) as well as the St Louis Cardinals. Dr. Laby also worked with the US Olympic team prior to the Beijing Olympics. Currently, Dr. Laby works with the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, and Houston Astros Professional baseball teams. Dr. Laby has over 25 years’ experience in Pediatric Ophthalmology, having worked in his own private practice in Massachusetts prior to joining ProHEALTH.
Dr. Laby is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a full member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology he is also a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. He has authored many journal articles, textbook chapters, and is the co-author of Dictionary of Ophthalmology. He founded the international email list-serve community in sports vision and serves as it’s moderator. Dr. Laby has been featured on Fox News, CBS News, over a dozen national and local television and radio stations, as well as newspaper articles in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Sports Illustrated.
Michelle Levi, M.D.
Dr. Levi graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors in biology. She then attended medical school at SUNY Downstate. Dr Levi completed an internship in Pediatric medicine at Cohen’s Children’s Hospital. She then completed an Ophthalmology residency at North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Indiana University.
Dr Levi is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She currently teaches ophthalmology residents at North Shore-LIJ, SUNY Stony Brook, and Nassau University Medical Center. She has a special interest in strabismus, retinopathy of prematurity, and pediatric cataracts.
Regina Del Rosario, M.D.
Regina Del Rosario was born in New York, NY and raised in Long Island. She received her undergraduate education from the University of Pennsylvania, from which she graduated Cum laude in 2000. She then received her medical degree Cum Laude from SUNY Downstate and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in 2004. She graduated in the top 10% of all female medical students and received an Excellence in Ophthalmology award. Dr. Del Rosario completed her residency in ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and was the first female chief resident in the history of the program. She completed her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Since 2009, Dr. Del Rosario has been engaged in private practice limited to pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
Dr. Del Rosario is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She is also a member of the Costenbader Society.
In 2010, Dr. Del Rosario donated some of her time in a medical mission in the Dominican Republic examining and operating on children with strabismus. She hopes to be able to contribute more time in the future. Dr. Del Rosario’s personal interests include spending time with her 2 young children, travelling, hiking, bird watching, playing the piano, and painting.
